Diane Namm
Diane Namm is an award-winning writer-director-producer for stage and film; and a children's book author of over 65 titles. She is founder and Executive Artistic Director of West of Broadway, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, which is dedicated to promoting literacy and social and civic responsibility through stage, and a recent recipient of the Los Angeles County Performing Arts Council Grant. Diane's recent film projects include THE SACRIFICE, TELEMAFIA, GREAT AMERICAN PIGEON RACE, WE'LL ALWAYS HAVE DINGLE and SASA. Her production company, Lady of Canyon, LLC is currently in development on the narrative shorts MISSING IN ARIZONA and INTO THE FIRE; PSAs for several non-profit organizations, including HART-UK and HART-US; and the Lady Caroline Cox Story. Diane has had the honor and privilege of accompanying Lady Caroline on her missions to Armenia, India, Nigeria and the Sudan.
Diane began her publishing career at Grosset & Dunlap, Macmillan and Simon & Schuster, and as an independent book producer, she developed book series for Bantam, Western, Scholastic and others. Diane was honored by Reading Is Fundamental of Southern California in 2008 for producing their PSA. She has served as a writing mentor for CREATE NOW, developing writing workshops for at-risk youth in juvenile detention centers, rehab centers and group homes. She is on the English Department Advisory Board for the University of Michigan, Edgemar Center Theater Company and a member of Women in Film, Authors Guild and National Women in the Arts.
